Who we are
In 2023, we purchased our acre and a half of paradise, a place we believe God has richly blessed us with. Since then, we’ve poured our hearts into cultivating the land, creating a space that reflects our love for family, foster care and adoption, sustainable living, and, above all, the glory of Jesus. As a family of seven, we’ve nurtured over 300 fruit trees—including a flourishing 100-tree orchard—alongside a thriving 8,000-square-foot garden, a pasture for livestock and chickens, and inviting spaces like a renovated RV, two tiny houses, and family-friendly amenities such as a basketball court and playground.
Why the name “Green Cloister”?
A cloister is a covered walkway or corridor forming a quadrangle (a square or rectangular courtyard). Its usually attached to cathedrals, monasteries, or convents. Its designed to provide a quiet, enclosed space for prayer, meditation, and movement between living and worship areas. You’ll often see arches, columns, and a garden or grassy area in the middle. It’s meant to be serene—set apart from the noise of the world.
That said, the reformer Martin Luther and his wife Katharina (Kat) Luther’s home was called “The Black Cloister”. The building was originally an Augustinian monastery in Wittenberg, where monks (including Luther himself) lived. The “black” part refers to the black robes worn by Augustinian monks—hence, “The Black Cloister.” We mention their home, because they lived out so much of what we value. Martin would do theology nights, Kat would train women to cook, their home was a living-breathing-unofficial-seminary.
Putting these two ideas together, we designed our entire farm to look like a cloister from above, with the entire property surrounded with Green trees and a large green grass area in the middle. We desire our farm to be a place that is used for the glory of God through an intentionally quite design, while at the same time have it be a place bustling with community. Therefore we are The Green cloister Farm.

What we believe
We believe that food is medicine and that God has entrusted mankind with the responsibility to cultivate the earth in a way that honors Him and sustains future generations.
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, as designed by God. As a venue dedicated to upholding biblical values, we do not facilitate same-sex unions. We understand this may not align with everyone’s beliefs, and while our venue may not be the right fit for all, we welcome respectful conversations about our convictions for those who wish to engage.
We believe family matters and is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe it is a God-ordained institution meant to be nurtured and cherished. That’s why our entire family is involved in the life and work of our farm.
We believe community matters. We believe humans were made for connection—not isolation—and that genuine relationships, meaningful celebrations, and the warmth of personal interaction are essential for human flourishing.
We believe that health is a gift from God, and we strive to honor Him by stewarding our bodies well—through nourishing food, rest, and meaningful work.
Because these values shape who we are, we reserve the right to decline event requests that do not align with the mission and convictions of Green Cloister Farms.
